MLTC RECEIVES GRANT FROM OPUS FOUNDATION
May 24, 2017 – We received a grant from the Opus Foundation to provide needed funds to purchase food and supplies – thank you Opus! And thank you Jessica Coyle, MLTC Communications Director, for recommending MLTC for this grant! We are a 100% volunteer organization, and all donations go directly to provide nourishment to our neighbors in need in the Twin Cities area.
Mobile Loaves Twin Cities is a social outreach ministry that empowers communities into a lifestyle of service. Our Mission is to provide food, clothing, and dignity to our brothers and sisters in need.
Hunger is increasing in the Twin Cities. Food shelf visits increased 4% in 2014 over 2013. Almost half of those who are hungry are children and seniors. Many people who have found employment since the recession are working fewer hours for less pay. One in ten households in Minneapolis is affected by hunger and food insecurity. Mobile Loaves Twin Cities works with other organizations in the Twin Cities of Minnesota to offer food, community, dignity, and compassion to our neighbors.
